Made Personal

The story behind Seeks

Seeks is a Pacific Northwest furniture studio rooted in craftsmanship, connection, and natural materials. We design and build timeless, custom wood furniture — made to last, made to live with, and made personal.

The Journey

From precision to craft

Seeks was founded by Lorin Seeks, a former logistics professional who traded operations and strategy for the scent of sawdust and the rhythm of hand tools. After years in the corporate world — and a deployment to Iraq as an Army logistics officer — Lorin found himself craving something tangible, something made by hand. He’d built a successful career managing global supply chains, but the more senior he became, the further removed he was from hands-on, tangible work. What began as a quiet hobby in evenings and weekends slowly became a calling: to create, to shape, to build a life around doing rather than directing.

With the support of his family, Lorin followed that pull — studying traditional woodworking, apprenticing his way through years of self-guided practice, and completing the highly regarded Furniture Makers Intensive at the Port Townsend School of Woodworking. That decision marked the start of Seeks: a studio devoted to making modern furniture that blends precision, craft, and warmth.

The Work Today

Furniture, made personal

At Seeks, every piece tells a story — of maker and material, of home and memory. We design and build furniture that’s meant to be lived with. Made to hold laughter, conversation, and the quiet moments in between.

Drawing from Scandinavian and Japanese design traditions, our work is guided by a belief that beauty lies in honesty — in clean lines, tactile materials, and joinery built to last generations. Each piece is crafted by hand in the Pacific Northwest, where the forests, light, and landscape inspire both the material palette and the calm, grounded aesthetic that defines our work.

We source domestic, responsibly harvested hardwoods, design for longevity and repairability, and approach every project with the same care — whether it’s a custom dining table, a made-to-order chair, or a simple, elegant side piece. Sustainability isn’t a statement; it’s a way of working that respects both the material and the people who live with it.

The Philosophy

Connection through craft

Seeks is built on connection — between designer and client, between process and place, between people and the furniture that becomes part of their lives. Each project is collaborative and personal. We invite clients and designers into the process, shaping pieces that reflect not only their needs but their stories.

Our goal is simple: to create furniture that feels at home from the moment it arrives — pieces that gather meaning over time, becoming part of family traditions and shared spaces for generations to come.

This is the essence of Seeks: Furniture, made personal.
