Commision a custom piece
Commission a Custom Piece
Custom commissions are the heart of what brought Seeks into being — and they remain some of the most rewarding, complex, and creatively rich work we do.
Each piece begins as a conversation and unfolds through a highly personal, hands-on design process. Together, we’ll explore your needs, your space, and your inspiration — and translate that into a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture. This work is never rushed. It often includes hand sketching, prototyping, custom jigs and templates, and thoughtful material sourcing before the build even begins.
Because of the time and energy involved, we take on only a small number of custom commissions each year. Projects are selected based on creative fit, scope, and the potential to create something truly special — both for you, and for the evolving body of work at Seeks.

Custom commissions unfold in three distinct phases:
Design Phase
We begin with a collaborative design process that includes client consultation, hand-drawn sketches, material selection, and a detailed project proposal.
This phase requires a non-refundable $500 design retainer.Build Phase
If the design proposal is approved, a 50% non-refundable deposit secures your place in the commission queue. Work is scheduled in the order deposits are received.Completion Phase
The remaining balance, including any delivery or shipping charges, is due upon completion and prior to pickup or shipment.
-
Due to the time-intensive nature of this work, we require a minimum starting budget of $6,000 for custom commissions.
Please be prepared to share your budget, timeline, and goals early in the process to ensure alignment.
